Company name check
Find out whether a company with the same or a similar name already exists in the Czech Republic. We search the ARES register of the Ministry of Finance.
What to consider when choosing a company name
Distinctiveness
Under the Czech Civil Code, a business name must not be confusable with another business name or create a misleading impression of what you do.
Legal form suffix
The name must include its legal form, for example s.r.o., a.s. or družstvo. The suffix alone, however, does not make names distinct.
Trademarks
A registered trademark may prevent you from using a name even if no company of that name exists. Search the databases of the Industrial Property Office. upv.gov.cz
Domain and social media
Before you decide, check that the .cz domain is free (for example via the search on nic.cz) and that the handles on social networks are available. nic.cz
